She added that overall booking grew by 20 per cent compared to Black Friday in 2017.

On the performance of flights for the year under review, Adagunodo said there was 300 per cent growth in flight business.

She said that this was because they partnered with the likes of Amadeus, Kiwi.com and Air Peace, among others.

She explained that for corporate bookings, the organisation was able to establish a robust team fully dedicated to
clientele.

Adagunodo said that corporate bookings and transactions increased by 50 per cent and that  in spite of that, they were
still able to push retail sales.

“Jumia marketplace is also planning to work on value-added services to drive value for the growing clientele.

“We also intend to seal key partnerships to drive online and offline sales and offer full bouquet of travel solutions
to include cruises, visas, concierge and ground transport,’’ she said.
