2018: NCC has Best MDA Website in Nigeria – NiOMA

Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC)’s website – www.ncc.gov.ng as been announced as the best Ministry Department and Agencies (MDAs) Website of the Year 2018

Organizers of the maiden edition of Nigerian Online Merit Awards (NiOMA) made the announcement on Friday in Lagos.

The commission- which regulates telecommunication sector in Nigeria wins the NiOMA’s Best MDA Website Of The Year Award for the feat.

The event, the brain child of News Express Online, was held at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos awnd NIOMA is designed to celebrate outstanding individuals and corporates driving Nigerian online revolution.

According to NiOMA organisers, the commission led by Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, recognises the importance of running an engaging world wide web to aid its service delivery.

Among the litany of Federal Government’s MDAs websites, NCC’s website by all parameters live to its mandate bidding on enterprising and effective communication, the organiser also said.

It further explained that “In a survey conducted on the MDAs sites, NCC web presents the most interactive, current, relevant, and error-free site aside from its unique design and simplicity. Every visitor has a positve experience.”

Receiving the Award on behalf of Danbatta, Head, IT Department at the Commission, Mr. Abraham Oshademi said the Award is a testimony to NCC’s commitment to ensure effective regulation of the telecoms indusrty .

“If you look at the content of our website, the information on the website, you will know that this Award is deserving. Remember, this is not the first Award we are getting. The Web Jurist Award also went to the NCC, so, there is no doubt about it, as these are different bodies, giving us the same Award”, he said.

NCC received the Web Jurist Award 2017 for the Best Website in the MDA category organised by Phillips Consulting.

The 2018 NiOMA Awards, was chaired by Mr. Ernest Ndukwe, a former EVC, NCC, with captains of industry, such as, Mr. Leo Stan Ekeh, Lady Maiden Ibru, the publisher of the Guardian Newspaper, Prof Wale Omole, the Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Guardian Newspaper, Mr. Eze Anaba, Editor, Vanguard Newspaper and a host of others.
