Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has yesterday dismissed knowledge Samson Siasia resigned as the coach of the under 23 national team.
NFF first vice chairman, Seyi Akinwumi in a chat with Brila Fm said the federation is yet to receive any official notice about SiaOne resignation.
Siasia’s contract as the U23 Coach ended with the completion of Rio 2016 Olympic competition where he guided the dream team VI to bronze medal.
He was reported to have resigned from his position as the coach because of poor treatment and unpaid wages of several months by the Federation.
Akinwumi while reacting to the development, denied any knowledge of it and noted that he read about the action in the newspapers,
According to him, executive board were yet to receive any briefing from the Secretary General on the matter, however he insisted the Coach is entitled to taking whatever decision that suits him”if it is true, i will congratulate him and wish him well” he said.
