It was not a night most fans would love to remember at Bernabeu on Wednesday night.
Unbelievably, CSKA humbled European champions Real Madrid, but it isn’t enough to stop them falling out of Europe completely after Viktoria Plzen’s victory over Roma.
The Champions League holder were shocked in front of their own fans as the visitor scored one, two three goals against a sterling youth teams at Bernabeu.
With Real already safely through to the last-16 of the competition, Santiago Solari handed Isco a rare start, while youngsters Federico Valverde and Vinicius Junior were handed chances to impress.
Vinicius looked lively in the opening exchanges, but in truth the holders were never at the races as Fedor Chalov put the Russian visitors a goal up eight minutes before half-time with a fine finish, fooling the Real defence with a dummy before curling the ball high past Thibaut Courtois.

CSKA were soon two goals to the good as Georgi Schennikov slotted home on the rebound after Courtois had saved an effort from Fernandes, with the Bernabeu crowd unamused as the half-time whistle went.
Gareth Bale came on for the second half, but the Welsh star suffered an ankle problem before CSKA made the game safe with a third goal 17 minutes from time, with Arnor Sigurdsson stroking a fine finish past a helpless Courtois.
