The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the Edo State governorship election, Godwin Obaseki, as the Governor-elect.
The declaration followed Obaseki meeting the criteria to emerge governor based on the election conducted in the state on Wednesday.
Obaseki scored a total of 319,483 votes to defeat Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the Peoples Democratic Party, who polled 253,173 votes.
Obaseki equally won in 13 out of the 18 local government area of the State.
The PDP and Ize-Iyamu have faulted the outcome of the election.
They have vowed to contest it in the law courts.
