Paul Pogba’s bizarre 28 step penalty run up is still a hit up reaction from enthusiasts. They reckon that it just wouldn’t be a Manchester United game if Paul Pogba wasn’t a talking point.
This time it’s the way he approaches penalty kicks.
The Frenchman opened the scoring during the Red Devils’ 2-1 victory over Everton on Sunday with an effort on the rebound after Jordan Pickford kept out his penalty.
However, the way Pogba takes his spot-kicks has divided opinion as the midfielder likes to do an extended run-up to increase the tension, as he revealed after the game.
They look great when they fly in, but if you miss then you are left with egg on your face.
This is not the first time he’s missed a penalty either. Pogba had his effort saved by Joe Hart during United’s 2-0 triumph at Burnley in September.
And his latest one attracted a great deal of criticism on social media, with one fan posting a video on Twitter that proves Pogba’s run-up was actually SLOWER than Usain Bolt’s 100m world-record (9.58secs) at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin in 2009.
Below you can see the video that shows the eight-time Olympic gold medalist is quicker over 100m than Pogba is over approximately 5m.
