U.S. Consulate To Hold Google Hangout with Nigerian Students

EducationUSA-photo-1-800x530The United States will be responding to questions on how Nigerians can successfully apply to any of the 107 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).in America and other opportunities in studying abroad.

NewswatchNigeria has gathered that United States Consulate General in Lagos,will host a Google Hangout on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, by 1 p.m., to respond to questions on the subject matter.

Channels Television’s Foreign Affairs Editor; Amarachi Ubani, will moderate the one hour Google Hangout session and two Nigerian students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities, will share live information about academic programs and campus life at HBCUs during the hangout.

According to  Public Affairs Officer, Darcy Zotter,the Google Hangout session promises to provide valuable information on educational, social, cultural and economic aspects of studying in a typical American university, especially at Historically Black Colleges and Universities,”

He added, “We look forward to helping students who are considering continuing their education in the United States.

Recall that Google Hangout sessions were held in August 2015 and April 2016 and thousands of Nigerians, including those residing outside the country participated.

Interested Nigerians and other nationals were encouraged to participate by tuning in to the live broadcast via the event page link http://bit.ly/askeduusa2017 or by logging on to the United States Embassy’s YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/USEmbassyNigeria).

The session will be available for subsequent viewing via the United States Embassy’s YouTube channel.

Thee upcoming session is being organized to commemorate 2017 Black History Month.
