A dual camera phone, ‘Infinix S2′ has been launched in Lagos, Nigeria.
The entrant of this two front camera lens device, however reinvented the notion of ‘selfies’, bringing about a whole new concept now known as the ‘Wefie’.
According to Wikipedia selfie is a self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a digital camera or camera phone held in the hand or supported by a selfie stick.
In Nigeria Selfies are often shared on social networking services such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Most selfies are taken with a camera held at arm’s length or pointed at a mirror, rather than by using a self-timer.
A selfie stick can be used to position the camera farther away from the subject, allowing the camera to see more around them.
But today, selfie is fast becoming an obsolete fashion with the introduction of Wefie, pronounced as “WE-fee”. Urban dictionary describes wefie as a plural of a selfie.
According to Bruno Li, Regional Country Manager, Infinix S2 comes in two variations, the S2 & S2 Pro featuring Dual front 8MP and 13MP cameras with front flash (Wefie).

The ‘Wefie’ functionalities helps users capture the best moments with their group of friends and is also infused with beautification features all crafted into its 8MP and 13MP dual front cameras. The camera quality also covers 135 degrees wide angle for the perfect Wefie.
Other features life-style features on the new phone include a 13mp back camera, 4G (LTE), Octa core processor, 16GB + 2GB – 3GB RAM, 5.2 HD Screen, 3000mah battery, XOS 2.2 (Infinix user interface) on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Infinix has also used the product launch to unveil ‘Runtown’ as the face of the youth friendly product.
Douglas Jack Agu, better known by his stage name Runtown, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer. He has a diverse musical style mix of hip-hop, R&B, reggae and rap.
