Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr has disclosed that team skipper, John Mikel Obi was substituted in the second half of their 2017 AFCON qualifier after he copped an injury and had to give way to another player as a precautionary not to aggravate it.
He commended his boys for their patience and dedication when the goal refused to come on time and that he was never under pressure during those periods knowing full well that the Taifa Stars would bulge later on when they were exhausted.
Rohr hinted that he made some tactical changes and he was happy that the introduced players justified their inclusion and the necessary effect.
