1,000,000 Nigerians Acquired Partner Mobile Phones in Three Months

Nigerians bought above 1,000,000 units of Partner Mobiles devices within the first three months the brand joined the league of Original Equipment Manufacturers(OEMs) to reckon with in the Nigerian mobile market.

The record, according to the brand’s executives can be used to assess its market share in the last twelve months as penetration of smartphones usage remains on the upward swing in the country with about-about 15.5 million new users in the year 2016.

Partner Mobile officially joined the league of top-notch devices in the Nigeria mobile market on Wednesday, May 11th 2016 and it has continued to introduce innovative and life- style devices which has given Nigerians opportunity to get what is suitable irrespective of its socio-economic classes among phone users.

On Friday, the exquisite brand launched PS 3 smartphone to mark the celebration of one year of bringing innovative and affordable devices into the Nigerian mobile market. PS 3 is coming into the market following the success of PS1 PS2 and PS Power.

  • Partner PS3

The Partner PS3 is an android OS 7.1 mobile phone that comes with a whooping deca-core 2.6GHz processor. With a 5.5inch FHD IPS LCD, the phone also comes with an innovative dual 13MP back camera and an 8MP front camera. It has a 3350Mah battery and comes with a RAM of 4GB and a ROM of 64GB.

According to Chief Operating Officer (COO), Partner Mobile, Simon Klepper, who described the last 12 months for the brand as ‘Successful and Challenging’ despite strong competition and recessive economy, explained that true commitment and perseverance gave the brand leeway.

He said, “Partner Mobile’s first year in the Nigerian market has got to be viewed as a success. The last year has been a challenging one for the whole of Nigeria with the current dwindling economy, the decreasing value of the Naira and political change.

“For any company to launch itself under such conditions it has to show true commitment and perseverance, Partner Mobile has displayed these qualities.”

Partner Mobile to Open Phone Plant in Nigeria

Partner mobile has distinguished and paraded its brand as a ‘Nigeria Phone.’ among the influx of foreign OEMs and its executives said they are putting their words into actions stating that plans are underway to sit its first mobile device manufacturing plant for Africa in Nigeria.

“Plans are underway. This I can authoritatively tell you. The plant will be cited in either Ogun or Lagos state. And I can tell you that we will achieve this before this time Next year,” says A Technical Partner of Partner Mobile who was fielding questions from Journalist at the phone launch event in Lagos.

Also commenting on Partner Mobile’s penetration into the Nigerian market, Ifeoluwa Akerele-Molokwu, marketing manager, Partner Mobile, said the brand name has been marketed to a large extent. “We have our gadgets currently in major stores across the country and we are still working towards reaching more customers by partnering with other dealers.”

“We have devices to fit into every social and economic class and also putting into consideration the current economic situation. Better said, we’ve got a Partner for everyone,” she added.

Quality of Partner Mobile Devices

While speaking on the quantity of devices already released into the Nigerian market Klepper said: “We released three android phones at the launch last year and quickly followed them up with a straight forward feature phone. The PF1 proved so popular that over the last three months we have released similar models of increasing specifications, the PF2, PF3, PF4 and a heavy duty PF-P1 with the capability of a power-bank.

“Our mid-range Elite Series E15 has just been replaced with the E16 and in the Prestige series, the PS1 has been joined by the PS-Power and PS2. Over the next couple of months we will have the PS1 + and PS1 Pro to complete the series.

“As we look forward to Nigeria re-establishing it’s previously impressive growing economy,” he said, “phone and gadget lovers can be assured that Partner Mobile will bring to market ranges of phones to satisfy the needs and desires of its consumers.”

When Partner Mobile officially made its entry into the Nigerian mobile devices market it was endorsed by Innocent Ujah Idibia, better known by his stage name 2face Idibia, or 2Baba, as the face of the brand. The event was held at the luxurious Four points by Sheraton Hotel in Lagos.

At the launch, the brand unveiled 3 android-based mobile phones – PS1, E15 and KS1 – to Nigerians.
