How APC’s Obaseki Wins Edo Governorship Election

obqsekiThe Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the Edo State governorship election, Godwin Obaseki, as the Governor-elect.

The declaration followed Obaseki meeting the criteria to emerge governor based on the election conducted in the state on Wednesday.

Obaseki scored a total of 319,483 votes to defeat Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the Peoples Democratic Party, who polled 253,173 votes.

Obaseki equally won in 13 out of the 18 local government area of the State.

The PDP and Ize-Iyamu have faulted the outcome of the election.

They have vowed to contest it in the law courts.
