Zimbabwe President, Robetrt Mugabe in a live broadcast on Sunday said he still holds his position as the president of the embattled nation.
Mugabe’s speech was a disappointment for citizens that have massively called for the end of his reign in the nation.
What the citizens expected from Mugabe was; “I have resigned, I am sorry” but what Mugabe in his 20 minutes speech said quite opposite.
Earlier on Sunday, the ruling political party, ZANU-PF, sacked Mugabe.
The ruling party gave the 93-year-old head of state 24 hours to resign or face impeachment.
Robert Mugabe has been ruling the southern African country for 37-years.
He sacked his Vice President earlier this month.
Emmerson Mnangagwa, the vice president who Mr. Mugabe sacked earlier in the month, was anticipated to serve as interim president but all that may not happen as Mugabe finished his speech without resigning.
