Asisat Oshoala has said that Chinese League is better for female football players who are not looking for cheap glory.
The Nigerian international who has played in both leagues shared the view in an interview on Sports radio (Brilla FM) on Monday.
She said “Asia has the better record about female League. English league is not the best League in the world they only have good media and Public Relations (PR).”
Club Career
On 23 January 2015, Oshoala joined Liverpool Ladies. Liverpool manager, Matt Beard called her “one of the best young players in the world.
Oshoala missed two months of the 2015 season with a knee injury, as defending champions Liverpool finished seventh of eight teams.
In January 2016 Liverpool reported that a transfer bid from Arsenal Ladies had activated the release clause in Oshoala’s contract and that she was discussing personal terms with the London club.
On 10 February 2017, Chinese club Dalian Quanjian F.C. officially signed Oshoala.
International Career
Oshoala found success as a forward for Nigeria’s youth teams but made most of her early appearances for the senior national team as an attacking midfielder. She was nicknamed “Seedorf” after male footballer Clarence Seedorf and has also been referred to as “Superzee” by her teammates.
She was named best player and with seven goals she was also the top goal scorer at the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
She was also named best player and a second top goalscorer with the Super Falcons team who won the 2014 African Women’s Championship. She also won the BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year 2015.
Project
Out of the quest to give a girl child in Nigeria opportunity for improved lives beyond the confine of traditional homes and socio-cultural boundaries associated with girls the Super Falcons striker is currently in Nigeria championing a project on this course.
The current African Women Footballer of the Year said she is out to change the lives of girls with her pet project, Asisat Oshoala Football Clinic which has received the backing of the Lagos State First Lady, Emzor Pharmaceuticals and Women in Sports in Lagos.
