Online classified site, OLX.com.ng has opened a database for all its accredited e-commerce sales representatives with the Lagos state government in the bid to authenticate the credibility of the portal against identity theft.
Issues such as online fraud and identity theft is rampant with E-commerce but OLX said its no longer an issue with its portal as it has now registered its staff, Champs and sales experts that help users buy and sell on the platform with the Lagos State Resident Registration Agency (LASRAA).
This according to Business Development Manager, OLX, Mayokun Fadeyibi the number one priority on the OLX platform is Trust & Safety and this is what the partnership with the state government is meant to achieve.
“With this additional identity verification of the OLX Champs we have created a credible database for our Champs and also provided the OLX Champs with the benefits of being a Lagos State Resident,” he said.
Through the launch of the Do it for me Service, OLX has empowered over a hundred youths by giving them the opportunity to earn a legit income when they help users buy and sell on the OLX platform.
Kayode Ogunnubi, General Manager, L.A.S.R.R.A represented by Abiodun Ajayi stated that said that the L.A.S.R.R.A resident card is formal proof that the card owner is a registered resident of Lagos State.
Each card has it own unique identification number that allows the card owner easy access to governmental and non-governmental services like Lagos State Housing, Healthcare and Education.
Therefore we urge Lagos State’s Residents to obtain the card and take advantage of these benefits.
