Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has dismissed reports suggesting that the players who are still being expected would be sanctioned.
There were speculations that Rohr was going to wield the big stick on his captain Mikel Obi, John Ogun and Victor Moses who are the only players still being expected.
This was however played down by the team’s Media Officer Toyin Ibitoye who said there were no such plans.
“There is no deadline here in camp. These are professionals who know what is at stake. If they have not arrived, it does not mean they are taking things for granted,” Ibitoye told Sportinglife.ng.
Ibitoye could however not provide any information about their arrival, but there are indications that the players should be in Uyo by Thursday.
Rohr expects all the players in camp before they travel to Portharcourt on Saturday for the Congo DR friendly on May 28.
Ahead of the friendly, Moses has been excused after featuring in the English FA Cup final while Mikel is expected to play.
A total of 27 players have reported to the team’s camp in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
