Electronic Payment Association of Nigeria (E-PPAN), has said its fifth annual forum will focus on the federal government’s stating that the forum will avail experts view on how to improve the IGR with improved electronic solutions.
As gathered Top-notch officials from the Central Bank of Nigeria, Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) Captains of industries, leaders, execuives and players in the electronic payment industry will be in attendance at the 5th E-Government Summit holding in Abuja.
in a statement EPPAN said over 150 delegates including strategist, policy-makers and national leaders’ will be at the two-day event starting from Tuesday next week.
The E-Government Summit is an annual event that provides a pedestal for the public and private sector to dialogue with each other on a topical issues revolving around developments in electronic payment space with bias for public sector.
The 2016 Summit with the theme: ‘Attaining Increased Internally-Generated Revenue (IGR), Efficiency and Accountability through Smart Innovations,’ provides yet unique opportunity for stakeholders to dialogue and share ideas on how to leverage and harness smart technologies with positive strides to increasing the nations’ IGR.
According to the statement signed by, the forum will focus on areas that can foster innovative ideas on how the government can use revenue generation, data management, opportunities on shared infrastructure, reduce capital costs and operating overheads to build a nation that is self-reliance.
“This years’ summit will cover topics such as Increasing IGR, for Government MDA’s through Implementation of Smart Solution; Delivering Innovative Citizen-centric Services using ICT; Adopting the Financial Inclusion Roadmap for Improved Economy and Good Governance; Smart Government through Shared Services Model; Data Integration and Analysis, for Strategic Economic Development amongst others,” the statement said.
Already, E-PPAN has unveiled a database of confirmed speakers at the event, including the Acting Director, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Dr. Vincent Olatunji; Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC); Boboye Oyeyemi; MD, Galaxy BackBone, Mr. Yusuf Kazaure; Country Manager, HP, Chukwuma Okpaka; and General Manager, CSCS, Mr. Taiwo Otiti.

Speaking in the statement, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Secretary, E-PPAN, Mrs. Onajite Regha, said the summit will host a special Smart City Forum anchored by NITDA.
“States to showcase their achievements in ICT include Oyo State by Mr, Niyi Alao, Senoir Special Adviser on ICT, Kaduna State by Idris Mohammed Special Adviser, Taraba State by Grace Amelea, Special Adviser on ICT, Anambra State by Dr. Chinedu Emeka, Commissioner for Science and Technology, Cross River State by Chief Offu Aya, Honourable Commissioner for ICT, Engr. Wilson Unogwu, Director, BTR, FCT Transport Secretariat amongst others,” she said.
Regha noted that other highlights of the event to look forward to are the workshop and networking that comes with the caliber of a persons expected.
This years’ e-government summit is in partnership with NITDA and put together by a Local Organising Committee made up of representatives from CBN, Galaxy Backbone, FSS2020, NITDA, PENCOM, FSS 2020 and E-PPAN.
