Super Falcons of Nigeria forward Assist Oshoala has confirmed that she suspended the Ramadan fast to prosecute the Africa Women’s Championship qualifier against Gambia on Monday at the Agege stadium.
You scored two wonderful goals today (Monday) but, how did you do that in this holy period of Ramadan fasting?,” she was asked by our correspondent after the match.
“I did not fast. But, it is just for today,” she replied.
The 23-year-old professional who had one assist to her four-goal feat was in action for 90 minutes.
The Nigerian international scored in each half as the Falcons booked their place in the 11th Africa
Women’s Championship which holds in Ghana later in the year.
Fellow teammate Desire Oparanozie was the highest goal scorer with four goals – two in each half.
