E-commerce leader and pioneer, Jumia, has presented a brand new Ford Figo valued at N5million to 22-year old Nnajiaku Clinton, winner of the 2017 Black Friday Car lottery organised by the firm in partnership with Coscharis Motors.
Speaking during the formal presentation of the car to the lucky winner, Head of Engagement Marketing at Jumia Nigeria, Ojuola Asuquo, said the firm recorded so many firsts in the Black Friday that ran between November 13 and December 13, adding that a lot of innovations to carry along shoppers who are not tech-savvy were introduced.
According to her, the event was a huge success considering the number of visits, orders and excitement it generated to the numerous shoppers on the Jumia platform.
She said Jumia will not rest on its oars as it will keep innovating to redefine online shopping in the country.
Also speaking, its Head of Partnerships, Omolara Ajele, said the partnership added value to both brands, adding that it tremendously drove participation of online shoppers during Black Friday.
She said Jumia will continue to explore partnerships with great brands to ensure that shoppers on the platform got the best.
In his remarks, GM Marketing & Corporate Communications at Coscharis Group, Abiona Babarinde, said partnership was one of the key elements in positioning to do effective brand collaboration with great barnds. He said one of the results of the collaboration is profitability.
According to Babarinde, the cardinal thing for the Coscharis Group brand is integrity, stressing that collaborating with Jumia was stress-free because it was equally a brand associated with integrity.
He recalled that there were a lot of pushbacks in the build up to the collaboration, adding that great brands usually turn challenges to opportunities.
In his reaction, Clinton, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), expressed gratitude to God, Jumia and Coscharis for hastening his desire to be successful in life.
According to him, he has always believed in hard work and not in cutting corners. He said he spent less than N15,000 to get a PS4 FIFA 18 he had earlier struggled to budget N30,000 to acquire and also got a brand new car.
