Manchester City beat West Ham2-1 in the Premier League to continue their winning run but were made to work hard for the points.

The Pep Guardiola’s side came from behind to beat West Ham in the Sunday’s fixture at Etihad Stadium.

The Blues were gargantuan favourites against David Moyes’s side but struggled to break down another backs-to-the-wall effort from their opponents and were stunned when Angelo Ogbonna headed in the opening goal just before half time.

Pep Guardiola went gung-ho after the break, bringing Gabriel Jesus on for left back Danilo and predicting West Ham would retreat further into their own third to protect their lead.

Nicolas Otamendi turned in the equaliser around the hour mark after good work from Jesus, and the Hammers backline was finally pierced again in the final ten minutes as David Silva met Kevin De Bruyne’s excellent ball with an exquisite volley into the far corner.

The win means City maintain their winning run,13th straing league win and retain their eight-point lead going into the derby.
