The Red Devils and Arsenal played out a thrilling draw at Old Trafford to leave Jose Mourinho’s men in 8th in the Premier League.

United fought back from behind twice but failed to find a winner as their winless run stretched to four matches.

Arsenal opened the scoring after a David De Gea howler as the United stopper failed to hold on to Shkodran Mustafi’s header.

Anthony Martial levelled things up from close range before two goals in under 20 seconds after the break.

First Alexandre Lacazette put Arsenal back ahead as Marcos Rojo’s attempted tackle rebounded off the striker and into the net.

But within seconds of the restart United were level again through Jesse Lingard.

  • FT: Wolves 2-1 Chelsea
  • Jota put Wolves ahead (63)
  • Jimenez brought hosts level (59)
  • Loftus-Cheek shot deflected in (18)
  • Neves suspended for hosts
  • Five Chelsea changes

Meanwhile, Wolves staged a brilliant fightback with a quick-fire double to stun wasteful Chelsea as Maurizio Sarri’s changes backfired.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek marked his first Premier League start for Chelsea since April 2016 with an 18th-minute opener. It saw the visitors deservedly lead at the break before blowing further chances to extend their advantage.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side then punished Chelsea at a packed, noisy Molineux as Raul Jimenez first equalised in the 59th minute.

Diogo Jota then put Wanderers ahead with just their second shot on target in the 63rd minute after a well-worked goal.

Alvaro Morata and Willian, who both missed earlier openings for Chelsea, were both duly hauled off.

Wolves’ brilliant teenager Morgan Gibbs-White, 18, got a standing ovation and a huge hug from Santo when he came off late on after his full Premier League debut. His heroics helped ensure Wolves’ first win in seven games after a dire run including five defeats.

Blues boss Maurizio Sarri must now lift his men for the visit of league leaders Manchester City , who are now ten points ahead of them.

Loftus-Cheek did well to net for a second successive game as he linked well with Eden Hazard. But if Chelsea are serious title contenders they cannot afford to lose at promoted teams.

Sarri even subbed N’Golo Kante late on to try to salvage an equaliser to prevent a second league loss in three games.
