Barcelona striker Neymar is making a leap into the world of music.
The Brazilian says he will post his first song on his Facebook account on Wednesday.
Neymar tweeted in Portuguese: ”Wednesday I start my music career.” He referred to his debut as ”Neymusico.”
The 24-year-old Neymar is an extremely popular figure in Brazil and around the world, and several times he has appeared on stage with singers at concerts, including joining Michel Telo to sing his hit ”Ai se eu te pego.”
If Neymar’s music talent is half as good as his football ability, then music fans are in for a treat.
However, Barcelona and Brazil fans will be hoping that Neymar’s music doesn’t distract him from his football this season.
Neymar isn’t the first football player to delve into the music industry and he follows in the footsteps of Pele, Jese Rodriguez and Clint Dempsey.
Brazil legend Pele has previously released his own album. He has also produced a recent song titled ‘Hope’, which was composed for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Paris Saint-German striker Jese Rodriguez, formerly of Real Madrid, has also produced a rap track, under the name ‘Jey-M’.
Finally, American footballer Clint Dempsey has also released music under the name ‘Deuce’.
More importantly for Neymar is Barcelona’s opening Champions League fixture against Celtic on Tuesday night.
Neymar and co will be hoping to get off to the perfect start in Europe, following their disappointing defeat to Alaves at the Nou Camp on Saturday.
