Cash trapped Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Wednesday signed a sponsorship deal with oil and gas firm Aiteo Group.
The group will be the NFF’s optimum partner for the next five years with an option for another year in a deal reportedly worth $9.2 million (N2.5 billion).
The breakdown as gathered is N500 million yearly which adds up to the full amount after the initial five years.
Aiteo Group announced the deal on Wednesday.
Super Eagles coach and the national team players will be payed from the money secured in this lucrative deal.
“Aiteo Group is now the official optimum partner of the NFF for the next five years,” the company said via its Twitter handles @aiteogrp.
“Great to be the official sponsor-partner of Nigerian football. Great days ahead. The love of the game is universal. We are proud to sponsor the biggest footballing nation on the continent.”
The deal will cover all the national teams and parts of the money will be used to pay the salaries of the coaches employed by the federation.
