Alex Iwobi has become Nigeria’s most expensive football player after completing his move from Arsenal to Everton.
The deal on the the 23-year-old was sealed on Thursday for a reported fee of €37.9m (N15.4trn) from the Gunners.
Records show that Iwobi now overtakes Kelechi Iheanacho as most expensive player, who moved from Man City to Leicester for £25m.
Recall that Iwobi started his professional football career with Arsenal in 2004 and spent seven seasons at the Emirates before his switch to Everton.
Iwobi now sits atop Nigeria’s Top-20 list of most expensive players whose transfer fee hit the double digits as given below:
