The staff of the Nigeria office of the online market renovated the vocational section of Modupe Cole Memorial Child Care and also presented the school with several gifts that would meet the needs of students and care especially this festive season.
According to OLX Nigeria Country Manager, Lola Marsha said “ As part of our core values for this project which we tag, “Live It” our did not only put up some of their items which they no longer need for sale via the platform to raise the capital needed to execute this project and other helping and empowering projects in the communities in which we operate.”
“ Today has you call see, we have paints the school walls and presents the students with loads of items for the season,” she added.
He added that “we are just determined to put smiles on peoples faces especially the less fortunate in our society. Everybody is being hit with the recession in the economy but we in our little ways we just have to do this because everybody must live on and enjoy.
“We decided to adopt Modupe Cole for this project because of the good work they are doing in the society, we appreciate them and as love toward their works we came up with the beautification plan of painting part of their premises.”
The school basically operates to empower kids with disabilities by giving them economic skills to earn a living in the society.
Speaking on the OLX project at the school, Rev Adebayo Adeyemi- Cole, Secretary of the Women’s Voluntary Organization and Founder, Modupe Cole said the school appreciatesOLX Nigeria for its kind gesture of painting the school and generous donation of food supplies.
In her gratitude she said, “We are simply touched and wish other corporate organizations would emulate OLX.”
Aside from painting the vocational section of the school and donating food supplies, OLX staff also patronized the students who make a wide range of accessories from key rings, hair clips, bangles, bags and lots more.
The kids also learn carpentry, painting and hairdressing.
