Original Equipment Manufacturer, Huawei, believes the way to weather the storm in the Nigeria Information Communication Technology sector and the nation’s economic recession is to continue to hit the local market with disruptive innovation and segmented solutions that meet the particular section of the market.

This however informed the smartphone manufacture’s introduction of yet another Mid-range Android Smartphone into the Nigerian market on Friday in Lagos believing that despite the state of the economy the best time for a wise investor in Nigeria is now.

GR5 Mini is the latest premium smartphone from Huawei in Nigeria. It was launched in Lagos amidst Industry watchers, national and regional market dealers, ICT and Brand Journalists, observers and foreign delegates, Huawei contingents, among others.

Speaking on the side with Newswatchnigeria during the unveiling, Managing Director; Huawei Devices Nigeria, Leo Jinag, said, “Despite economic crunches, Nigeria still appear to be destination hub attraction for foreign investors as the country Information Communication Technology (ICT) sector continued to witness growth and market potentials.

The GR5 Mini we are launched today (Friday) , is a mini version of the popular Android Smartphone HUAWEI GR5, designed to meet the demands of today’s young professionals. The device has 13 MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash for quick capture of perfect image. It can capture crystal clear image with Sony Sensor. It has 8 MP front camera with HDR support.

Speaking on the specification, Marketing Director, Consumer, Kyle Pam, said the GR5 Mini shows Huawei’s cravings for innovations with a 5.2 full HD display conditions.

The large display,” he added “‎is also comfortable to handle and perfect for getting work done. With an exquisite design, ergonomic streamlining, and rippled surface treatment, the phone has an elegant look and feel, and a convenient and comfortable form factor that fits every lifestyle.

The phone has 3000mAh battery capacity with intelligent power saving technology which allows the battery to last and stay on for as long as two days without charging for light users, and 32 hours for hard users. The phone is made with the Latest HiSilicon Kirin 650 Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 processors with 2 GB RAM for Multitasking and Gaming.

This commitment, he said, was behind its partnership with legendry camera brand, Leica‎ AG for the launch of the Huawei P9 smartphone earlier in the year. And Nigerian celebrated designer, Adebayo Oke Lawal of Orange Culture to give customers who purchase GR5 Mini a designer phone case for free.
