Teaching of French language needs to improve, SchoolstoreNg Ltd has said.
This has informed the collaborative efforts of SchoolstoreNg Ltd, a School supplies and Education Company and French publisher Hachette Livre to train teachers from different schools in Lagos state.
The teachers were trained from a pedagogical perspective on ways of improve their French language teaching skills.
The workshop held recently at AVI-CENNA International School, Ikeja Lagos also had the Alliance Francaise Lagos as a partner.
According to Head, Education and Commercial Projects, Hachette Livre France, Violaine Jamen, the importance of engaging students at different levels with captivating activities that would enhance the learning process of French language is needed in Nigeria.
She shared websites and online platforms where the teachers can source materials for teaching the language.
Violaine who majorly undertakes the regular visit to all Anglophone African Countries said she bring close to the teachers and the students the latent expectations of the publisher across all levels of their publications.
According to the Principal; AVI-CENNA, David Ogburn, the school collaborated with SchoolstoreNg and Hachette Livre to improve the quality of French teaching and increase the assimilation rate of the students.
“The publisher – Hachette has trained teachers on how to derive maximum value using the resources from a pedagogical perspective. This is needed on a regular basis.”
The Director of studies, Alliance Francasie Lagos Emamanulle Ravot who was also in attendance underscored the importance of the teaching of French to schools in Nigeria.
The highpoint of the workshop was presentation of certificates to all the teachers that participated and the display of French resources and materials also from the stocks of SchoolstoreNg limited.
