Nigeria was ranked 50th in the January rankings but now find themselves 41st in the February rankings.
AFCON 2017 winners Cameroon were ranked 33rd in the world and third in Africa.
The Super Eagles were ranked 7th in Africa behind Egypt, Senegal, Cameroon, Tunisia, Congo DR and Burkina Faso who occupy the first sixth positions respectfully.
Ghana, Ivory Coast and Morocco complete the top 10 in Africa.
