In three days time the Super Eagles of Nigeria will be slugging it out in an international friendly with Poland at the Wroclaw Stadium.
Here are some of the features of the six year old Municipal stadium which the Nigerians would play for the first time.
Already Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr invited 28 players for the friendlies against The White and Reds as well as Serbia’s The Eagles, as part of preparation for Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The Rohr’s boys would square it up at the Municipal Stadium rebuilt in the year 2012 for the UEFA Euro 2012 Championship with Poland before and would engage Serbia four days after.
The 42, 771 seats capacity stadium is the 3rd biggest stadium in Poland with large area of grass surface.
Some of the facilities at the stadium which both sides would have access to include but not limited to; locker rooms, massage rooms, showers, toilets, coach rooms and warm-up areas.
The Stadium is managed by a company called “Wroclaw 2012”, however, it is proper of the city of Wroclaw.
The stadium was used for a boxing match between Vitali Klitschko and Tomasz Adamek before it hosted its first football game the following month.
The Stadium hosted three group A matches during the Euro 2012 championships.
The inaugural game the Polish national team played at the Stadium was in November 2011 against Italy. Poland lost the game 0-2.
Already 22 out of the 28 players invited for the two friendlies are already in Eagles camp which opened on Monday in Poland.
Meanwhile as gathered, Eagles captain John Mikel Obi, Etebo and Olufemi Ajayi would not be joining the camp because of hiccups encountered in securing visa and delay in renew of his work permit in the case of Mikel.
Meanmwhile, we wish the Super Eagles a good outing at the Municipal Stadium on Friday.
